The Egyptian Millennial Bionic Super Woman

The Egyptian Millennial Bionic Super Woman

If you don’t know her by now, then you have been missing out on the strongest source of inspiration that we have come across nowadays! Salma El Zarka recently had to make the toughest decision anyone can ever make, she had to consciously agree to the Doctors decision to amputate her right hand to save her life because it was her only chance for survival, her shot at a Happy Cancer Free Life!

Let us take you to Salma’s battle with Cancer from the beginning;

Salma was first diagnosed with a low-grade bone cancer back in the summer of 2015 after she just graduated college. She was starting her job as a Teacher Assistant but didn’t know what to do at that point! She didn’t really see ahead, thinking to herself “Am I going to die soon?!” Thankfully the Doctors informed her that the tumor was localized, that it didn’t spread, it was only a small tumor and they’ll go in for a surgery and remove it. Giving her hope that she’s going to live a normal life without having to go through chemotherapy.

Little did they know those Doctors! After coming out of the surgery they informed her that it was a high-grade bone cancer and she had to go through chemotherapy. Her strong faith was tested in every way! Just like any of us, she didn’t really know how it was to be exposed to radiation and she was faced with so many life decisions; whether to keep going to work or quit! But the fighter in Salma kept going to work, finished 6 months of chemotherapy and 6 months of her master’s degree even!

To her, this was the #1 challenge which she overcame with the support of her family, friends, and colleagues. By March 2016 she had finished chemotherapy but it wasn’t over yet! She started feeling pain in her right arm again, but at least it wasn’t cancer this time, but still, she had to undergo another surgery which was challenge #2. She had to stick to using one arm at work and being a teacher, your hands are everything but the mighty Salma didn’t let stop her, she started getting creative by creating powerpoint presentations, visual aids, and study cards.

2017 for Salma was Cancer Free for her but that almost didn’t feel right to her, she was always used to being struck in the face with one hurdle after the other, so for her to just sit back and enjoy a pain free life seemed like something new to her although she’s a very positive person by nature. Salma doubted that her happiness might not last but she did enjoy every single moment in 2017 after knowing how it feels to be in extreme pain.

Unfortunately 30 days before her wedding day she got the news, the worst news of all, the one piece of news that hit her so hard, she was diagnosed with high stage bone cancer reoccurrence in her right arm.

You would think that she would give up at this point but SHE DID NOT!

And she found herself faced with challenge #3, she believed in God’s will and that everything happening is for the best, if that is not something to be admired, I don’t know what is!

She had to prepare herself mentally to go through the WORST! The recurrence of cancer is more vicious than the first occurrence and going through chemotherapy is even worse, then challenge #4 came knocking on Salma’s door and it was the hardest knock she had ever experienced, a knock so hard that it was going to take her arm away! It’s safe to say that it was the hardest challenge of all. She was shocked, sad, and angry, you name it! She’s a human being after all yet at this point with all the pain she withstood, she proved to us all that she’s some kind of superhero, A SUPERWOMAN!

By that time Salma El Zarka has become everyone’s inspiration on Social Media WORLDWIDE, she asked everyone to pray for her and to support her along her journey, the thing is everyone who was watching her, praying for her and supporting her was looking up to her and taking her as a reason to keep on going regardless of their daily battles and struggles they face!

After the doctors amputated her right arm, Salma El Zarka becomes to us all THE EGYPTIAN MILLENIAL BIONIC SUPERWOMAN  that everyone loves, supports and pray for on a daily basis.

Supporters from all over the world created this video for her to show their support in every way they possibly can if her story doesn’t inspire you, I don’t know what will!
