The Good, The Bad, and The UglyTruth.
Pain is the strongest feeling a person could endure. Every moment we are present, every second we are alive, is another opportunity to feel something, anything. During the volumes of “Surviving Your Twenties” we have survived through relationships whether they were interpersonal ones or an intimate one, then all the way to depression; self healing and how every choice we make has it’s circumstances, it’s lessons. Every action has a price that we have to pay regardless of what the outcome is.
After all that we have been through since we’ve started this era, moving on to learning the essence of “moving on”. Teaching yourself how to deal with all what life brings you. Any kind of mind-blowing curve ball scenario that happens, this is how you should deal with it;
Take a step back, a deep breath…inhale…exhale…
Speak to someone who knows you VERY well and has your best interest at heart and measure the essence of the problem or situation. They know you best, they should help you clarify every thought calmly.
If that doesn’t work, write. Lay it all down on paper, you can even try making a pros and cons list.(The good, The bad and The ugly).
It is way simpler than we make it out to be. Sure, every curve ball drains every ounce of power and energy we have ,but it is surpassing that stage that makes it all worth while. You learn to grow, you learn who you actually are, whoever that might be.
Modern pain science shows that pain is a volatile, complex sensation that is completely tuned by the brain and often over-protectively exaggerated, so much so that sensitization often becomes more serious and chronic than the original problem. All of this has complicated “all in your head” implications: if the brain controls all pain, does that mean that we can think pain away? Probably not, but we do have some “neurological leverage” of great value — we can influence pain, if we understand it.
Listen, if you come to a point in your life and (most of us land here every once in a while) and make the decision to just change everything, to own up to everything that has been causing you pain. YOU CAN! Humans have the ability to prank themselves. When we mean “prank” we are referring to every pain that we endure is 100% BRAIN-MADE and there is no pain without brain. Does that mean can we think pain away? Just how much power does the mind have over pain? Can confidence and education cure? Only YOU have those answers!
Advising you could take you to a better place,sure, but we are not in your head, we do not know you well enough to “cure” you, but we are sharing our experiences like we share our thoughts so hopefully these benefit you.
Sharing our own experiences isn’t the easiest, we are just like you.
My Dad passed away a little over a month ago. I am sharing this with my readers because you guys have become quite close to me. The way I handled it was intense. I didn’t think I would take it in so slowly. At first, I realized that I had to be there for my Mom more than I had to be there for myself. I sat, took a couple of deep breathes and stood up to my brain and heart. I owned up to it, I told myself every time that I wanted to break apart and hurt myself, whether that was emotionally or physically that I needed to keep it together. I spoke to myself a lot and said that; He is in a way better place, he isn’t in pain anymore, he is rested and he is happy. Wherever he might be now, I know in my heart that his memory will stay with me forever. Sure, we break down, we scream, shout, cry to the point that we hyper-ventilate, but we pick ourselves up and FIGHT. Show the ones who have left us that we will be okay. WE WILL LIVE FOR THEM! Like they would want us to.
We are the controllers of our minds, bodies and souls. Take us wherever you want to. Break apart your brain and talk to it. Speak to it as if you are speaking to your best friend. Tell it everything that comes to your mind and believe that you can do anything you set YOUR MIND TO.
BE THE CONTROLLER!
