You have to live with them, you can’t live without them!
Yes folks it’s nearly here again, the big day in the calendar that men around the world have been waiting for: Sunday is International Men’s Day. The ONE day a year where it’s a legitimate fact that we must celebrate ‘MEN’. Considering that a woman is writing this article is actually quite humorous if you’d ask me.
Let’s get serious though, a lot of GREAT men should be celebrated, I’m not talking about great leaders, successful, rich, famous MEN. No, I’m talking about REALISTICALLY.
A father, the one who helped create you. The one who spent nights with your mom taking care of you while you cry as a baby because you can’t communicate. Or the time you needed to learn how to walk and he supported your ‘first steps’. He was there for you at the time that you graduated high school. The fact that he spent days working hard so you could go to college. That is a father.
A brother is another great example. The single sibling that fought off all the bullies at school for you, or that stood up for you when your parents wanted to ground you for going home late one night. The brother who threatened that guy that took you out on your first date, but he was just looking out for you, yea, THAT brother. Or the best brother that walked you down the aisle on your wedding day because your dad wasn’t around anymore. THAT brother!
Last but certainly not the least, a husband. This one is a tough one, you’re true love, you’re one and only. This person is not more important than the ones listed above, but this one..this one is different. This one, is the one you choose. The one who should be there for you, through the thick and thin. Through sickness and in health, to love you, to cherish you until the day you both shall die. The one that supports you, guides you towards the right direction, is your teammate through it all. He is and will always be your partner.
The men listed above are people to celebrate. So, on behalf of a person that has two out of the three listed above, I celebrate you. Here is to another year of celebrating successful, incredible, human beings. Happy International Men’s Day!
